Have You Found a Lost Pet?

If you have found a pet and want to know if it has a microchip and belongs to someone, please don't hesitate to call us at 262-473-2930.  We have a microchip scanner and may be able to assist in finding the pet's owner!

If you have the number of a pet's microchip and would like to see if it's registered to a company, you can look it up on the following website.

http://www.petmicrochiplookup.org/

AAHA Disclaimer: The Universal Microchip look-up tool is an internet-based application that enables veterinarians, humane organizations, pet owners or other persons to search various Pet Recovery Service registries and identify those registries on which a particular microchip is registered. AAHA is not affiliated or involved with any specific microchip registry and has no relationship, financial or otherwise, with Participating Pet Recovery Service Registries. These Registries have given AAHA permission to search their databases in order to assist pet owners in being reunited with their pets. AAHA does not maintain a database of microchips of its own. The AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup Tool only searches the databases of companies that elect to participate in the program.

Interested in microchipping your pet?

From the HomeAgain website, "Dog and cat microchipping is a simple procedure.  A veterinarian simply injects a microchip for pets, about the size of a grain of rice (12mm), beneath the surface of your pets skin between the shoulder blades.  The process is similar to a routine shot, takes only a few seconds, and your pet will not react any more than he would to a vaccination.  No anesthetic is required.

A HomeAgain microchip is permanent pet ID.  The microchip itself has no internal energy source, so it will last the life of your pet.  It is read by passing a microchip scanner over the pet's shoulder blades.  The scanner emits a low radio frequency that provides the power necessary to transmit the microchip's unique cat or dog ID code and positively identify the pet.

HomeAgain is the only dog & cat microchipping product on the market today that has the Bio-Bond patented anti-migration feature to help ensure that the microchip will stay in place so that it may be easily located and scanned.  If your pet gets lost and is taken to an animal shelter or veterinarian, they will scan the microchip to read its unique dog or cat ID code.  This is the number used by HomeAgain to identify the pet and retrieve your contact information, which is used to contact you and reunite you with your pet."

What happens if I lose my microchipped pet?

HomeAgain has a great tool on their website to show you the process of what happens if your pet goes missing if they've been microchipped.  Read about the Pet Recovery Process on their website via the link here: http://public.homeagain.com/pet-recovery-process.html
